How to Convert Video to MKV?
MKV, short for Matroska Multimedia Container, is an open standard free container format, a file format that can hold an unlimited number of video, audio, picture or subtitle tracks in one file. It is intended to serve as a universal format for storing common multimedia content, like movies or TV shows.
Following are the detailed steps.
Step 1: Run Sothink Video Converter, and load the source
Double click the desktop icon of Sothink quick launcher you've successfully installed to run it, and choose Video Converter from the welcome screen following.
Load the source video through the Add buttons on the main UI, or just drag & drop it into the main UI.
Step 2: Choose MKV, and customize the output video
Seconds later, the source video is imported in. Move to the right pane and click the profile switcher to enter into Sothink's profile library, and choose MKV from the Video tab of Format part. Then, select the output titles, audio tracks and subtitles you need.
Without further requests, you can have Sothink execute the video conversion. Under that circumstance, the video to MKV conversion will be performed with all default settings. If you do have, then, you can customize the output video like setting video and audio parameters regarding the output video with the Advanced Setting feature, or editing it like adjusting the video effect, trimming the parts you need, cropping or rotating the display area, adding watermark or external subtitles, etc. with the built-in video editor.
After that, go to the lowest part of the interface, and select the output location for storing the output video at the Save to part.
Step 3: Start to convert video
Now that you've made all settings you need, you could take the last step and let Sothink Video Converter convert video to MKV. All you need to do is just make a mouse click to hit the Start button, then just take a short rest, and leave the rest to Sothink.
